New route: 50 Años de Libertad (5.11, 285 m)

by Grant Simmons
After six weeks of nearly perfect weather, we hiked out of Cochamo yesterday as skies darkened and a light rain began to fall. This year, the beginning of March marks the end of the climbing season, and we are moving across the border to Argentina for the remaining two weeks of our trip. Above is a shot from one of the best days I've ever had in the mountains. Andrew Andraski and I were lucky enough to find pitch after pitch of great climbing while climbing a new route on Cerro Walwalun - 50 Anos de Libertad (5.11, 285 meters of new climbing).
