Alex Honnold Free Soloing in Cochamó

Alex Honnold on-sight free soloed Al Centro y Adentro through a 5.11b bombay chimney to the routes 5.11+ crux on pitch five before roping in with companions Cedar Wright and Andres Zegers, who were climbing up from below. He compared the 450-meter route’s quality to Yosemite’s Rostrum and Astroman. During rainy days, he visited Pared Seca and on-sighted Happy Hour (5.13b) and bagged the first free ascent of two sport route projects: Amigos Para Siempre, 5.13b, and Ñ, 5.13c, the latter he claimed to be the best route at Pared Seca.
